An hourly amount needs a schedule before it can become an annual equivalent. The Salary Calculator converts gross pay between hourly, weekly, monthly, and annual bases using the paid weeks and working hours you enter. It does not calculate deductions or the amount deposited into a bank account.
Enter pay and the schedule together
Fill Gross pay, choose its Pay period, and enter Working hours per week and Paid weeks per year. Choose Calculate to see all four equivalent amounts. Gross pay must be nonnegative, hours must be between 1 and 168, and paid weeks between 1 and 52.
Use the basis that matches the entered amount. For example, an hourly amount must have Hourly selected; selecting Monthly would treat the same number as one month’s gross pay. Schedule fields remain important even with an annual input because weekly and hourly equivalents divide the annual amount by your selected weeks and hours.
Follow an hourly example
Enter gross pay 25, select Hourly, set hours to 40, and paid weeks to 48. Annual gross equivalent is 25 × 40 × 48 = 48,000. Monthly equivalent is 48000 / 12 = 4,000. Weekly equivalent is 48000 / 48 = 1,000, and hourly equivalent returns 25.00.
The weekly result is an equivalent per paid week, not an average over every calendar week. The monthly result is annual gross divided by twelve, not a prediction of any particular month’s payslip. This distinction matters when the assumed schedule has unpaid weeks or uneven hours.
For Annual input, the tool uses the entered amount directly. Monthly input is multiplied by twelve, Weekly input by paid weeks, and Hourly input by both hours and paid weeks. The same annual basis is then divided to produce the other three figures.
Keep excluded items separate
The model does not calculate payroll taxes, benefits, overtime rates, bonuses, variable shifts, or unpaid leave beyond the paid-week assumption you explicitly supply. It does not infer employment rules or compare compensation packages. Fractional schedule values are accepted mathematically, but the interpretation should still match the period you are describing.
Amounts are rounded to two decimals, use no attached currency conversion, and stay in the browser. Check a real payroll schedule independently before treating an equivalent as a payment expectation.
Use the Percentage Calculator to compare two like-for-like gross figures. For a separate target illustration, the Savings Goal Calculator solves a monthly contribution under stated growth assumptions; it does not know what portion of gross income is available after actual expenses and deductions.
