Frequently asked questions

How is change measured when the original value is negative?

The tool divides the difference by the absolute magnitude of the original value: (Y - X) / abs(X) times 100.

Why is a zero original rejected for percentage change?

The formula would divide by zero. The share-of-total mode also rejects zero as its second-value denominator.
