An excerpt is often more useful than an entire report. PDF Splitter copies selected pages into one new PDF, allowing you to share a chapter, an invoice section, or a few relevant appendices. It does not automatically create a separate file for every selected page.
Identify positions before entering a range
Open your source in a PDF viewer and note the actual page positions. The tool counts from 1 at the first page in the file, regardless of labels printed on the page. A cover and contents sheet can make printed page 1 appear at file position 3.
Upload one PDF, then enter page numbers such as 2-4, 7. A hyphen defines an inclusive range; commas separate ranges or single positions. Leaving the field blank selects all pages. Avoid repeated positions, reversed ranges, zero, and numbers beyond the document’s page count.
Choose Create PDF and save the new excerpt. The source is not edited in place. Keeping the original nearby makes it easy to verify that the excerpt begins and ends at the intended boundaries.
Build a four-page excerpt
Imagine a ten-page file whose first page is a cover. You need file positions 3, 4, 5, and 9. Enter 3-5, 9. The result has four pages, in that sequence: source 3 becomes output 1, source 4 becomes output 2, source 5 becomes output 3, and source 9 becomes output 4.
Entering 3-5, 5 would repeat page 5 and is rejected. Entering 5-3 would describe a descending range and is also invalid. For a normal excerpt, write ranges from smaller to larger positions and separate unrelated pages with commas.
After download, inspect the first and last output pages and confirm the total count. If the excerpt depends on a legend, definitions page, or referenced appendix, include those deliberately rather than assuming the recipient has the full report.
Check document features and limits
The source must be no larger than 30 MB and contain no more than 100 pages. Encrypted PDFs are unsupported. Processing happens in your browser, and rebuilding can affect bookmarks, attachments, forms, and digital signatures. Retain the authoritative source when those features matter.
If you instead want to keep almost everything and exclude a few positions, PDF Page Remover may be easier to reason about. Use PDF Merger when the excerpt needs to join another document. Neither operation is a substitute for redacting sensitive content within a retained page.
