Frequently asked questions

Does a multiplier of 2 mean twice the perceived loudness?

No. It scales audio amplitude before limiting. Perceived loudness depends on the source, frequency content and listening conditions.

Can boosting repair a distorted recording?

No. The tool changes gain and uses a limiter; it cannot recover details already lost through clipping or noise.
