Reorder a PDF with every page included exactly once

Map old page positions to a complete new sequence and check a reordered PDF without accidentally omitting or duplicating pages.

A PDF can contain all the right pages and still tell its story in the wrong order. PDF Page Reorder uses a written sequence of page positions to build a new copy. Every original page must be included exactly once, making this a complete rearrangement rather than an extraction tool.

Write the sequence before processing

Review the source in a PDF viewer and identify the role of each page: cover, introduction, main content, appendix, or back sheet. Number these by their positions in the actual file, beginning with 1. Printed labels do not determine the values used by the tool.

Upload one unencrypted PDF no larger than 30 MB and containing no more than 100 pages. Enter the desired sequence with commas, for example 3, 1, 2. Inclusive ascending ranges are also available when a section can remain together.

Include all pages once. The tool rejects duplicates, missing pages, out-of-range numbers, and reversed ranges. Leaving the field blank selects the original complete sequence, so it does not cause an automatic rearrangement or infer an order from page headings.

Move a misplaced cover

Suppose a five-page file contains introduction, findings, cover, references, and appendix in positions 1 through 5. Enter 3, 1-2, 4-5. The new file begins with the old page 3, then includes old pages 1, 2, 4, and 5.

The output still contains five pages. Its page 1 is the cover, page 2 is the introduction, and page 3 is the findings. The content printed on each page does not change. A footer that originally said page 3 will still say page 3 unless edited elsewhere.

Download the PDF and compare its thumbnail sequence with your plan. Check section transitions and any references such as “see next page.” Correct ordering can expose printed page-number inconsistencies that were already present in the source.

Check the rebuilt document

Processing happens in your browser. Keep the original because copying pages into a new PDF may affect bookmarks, attachments, interactive forms, and digital signatures. Review any feature that matters beyond visual page appearance, especially a linked contents page or form workflow.

If your real goal is to omit pages, use PDF Page Remover rather than leaving them out of the required sequence. If the pages currently live in separate files, PDF Merger can assemble them first. Reordering does not compress images or remove sensitive content embedded within an otherwise retained page.
