Count calendar days with an explicit start-date rule

Calculate a two-week date interval, interpret signed results, and distinguish calendar subtraction from elapsed clock hours.

Decide what you mean by days between

The Date Difference Calculator calculates end date minus start date. The start date is excluded from the count. This is useful for an interval such as the time between a project’s kickoff date and its next review, provided everyone uses the same counting rule.

Select Start date and End date, then choose Convert / calculate. The tool validates that each entry is an actual calendar date. It does not skip weekends, apply public holidays, or interpret a contract’s special deadline language. Those rules belong to the context in which you will use the result.

Verify a two-week interval

Set Start date to 2026-10-29 and End date to 2026-11-12. The expected result is:

14 days

The metrics show 2 complete weeks and 0 remaining days. If you set both dates to 29 October, the result is 0 days because no date boundary separates them. A count of all calendar dates touched, including both endpoints, is a different convention and would need a deliberate adjustment for a forward interval.

Reverse the two example dates and the signed result becomes −14 days. That sign tells you the end lies before the start. For intervals not divisible by seven, the tool’s complete weeks use truncation toward zero and the remainder follows the signed difference, so read the day total as the primary result.

Keep calendar days separate from clock hours

The calculation anchors the dates to UTC midnight before subtracting them. That avoids a local daylight-saving transition turning a calendar day into an apparent 23- or 25-hour arithmetic interval. It also means this tool is not measuring elapsed time between two actual local appointments.

For dated appointment times, use Time Zone Converter to establish the relevant instants. For simple start and end clock readings, Time Duration Calculator provides time-of-day arithmetic while explicitly excluding daylight saving and dates.

Copy the counting rule with the result

In a project note, write something like “14 calendar days, end minus start” instead of just “14.” This makes the result reproducible and reduces disagreement about whether kickoff day was included. If you need completed years, months, and days between personal dates, Age Calculator uses a different calendar breakdown.

The dates are processed locally in your browser. No account or submission to an ERITHRA processing endpoint is required. A copied result may still reveal a personal or business schedule, so omit unnecessary identifying context from shared examples.
